NRA surveyed the community on their needs and vision of local public transport and conveyed these findings to Environment Canterbury (ECan).
Northwood Fair
The annual fair (not active) in Northwood Park was a day for the community to get together, while supporting charity and raising money
Predator Fence
NRA advocated to CCC to determine the best position of the Styx Mill Reserve predator fence by holding public meetings
Saracen Avenue Gums
NRA worked with residents and CCC arborists to ensure the large eucalyptus trees remain safe and cleared regularly of bark and debris
Emergency Updates
NRA co-ordinated with first response units and later with other agencies during and after the Marble Court gas explosion. Our social media coverage kept the community up to date. We have also donated a generator for use by the wider community in the case of a large scale emergency.
Environment Improvements
The Northwood community puts great value in our environment. NRA runs tidy-ups around Northwood
Kaputone Stream
The association supported the reparation of the Kaputahi (Kaputone) Stream by installing the aquifer pump to ensure continous flow
Northwood Roundabout
NRA has worked to get improvements in the drainage, particularly the Northwood Roundabout
Waterford Reserve
NRA has played a major part in the removal of river willow saplings in Waterford Reserve
Main North Road Intersection
NRA has worked with CCC planners and NZTA to ensure access and safety improvements to this intersection for our community
Styx Mill Reserve
NRA actively supports the Styx Living Laboratory Trust in their conservation work around the Styx River
Northwood Boulevard
We are working with CCC through a long-term improvement programme of the boulevard
